Over 200 Years of Black Environmental Stewardship is in Danger of Coming to a Halt!

On behalf of the Pembroke Environmental Justice Coalition and Black in Green, Chicago Lawyers’ Committee partnered with the Environmental Defense Fund to file a petition today, asking an Illinois appeals court to overturn a flawed decision to allow a natural gas pipeline to be built in Pembroke Township – an historically Black farming community whose concerns were not considered in the approval process and who could be severely harmed by the pipeline.
