Fair Housing Enforcement in Illinois

Speaker: Emily Coffey, Director of Equitable Community Development and Housing 

Emily Coffey will focus on Chicago Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights’ state and local fair housing enforcement efforts, which are all the more essential as the federal enforcement infrastructure is being eroded. This will include discussion of discrimination based on source of income and arrest and conviction records, as well as ongoing advocacy to expand civil rights protections in Illinois. Lawyers will also learn how to partner with CLC on pro bono opportunities.
