The American Dream Reconsidered: Voting Rights & Voter Suppression

  • Ganz Hall, Roosevelt University 430 S Michigan Ave Chicago, IL 60605 (map)

There is no guarantee of voting rights in the U.S. Constitution, touching off a 200-year battle to secure the franchise for all American adults. Recent years have seen renewed controversy over the rights of people with a past criminal record, Voter ID laws and partisan gerrymandering, have degraded the quality of American democracy and excluded millions from our electoral processes. This panel will gather a group of leading journalists and experts on voting rights to ask and debate difficult questions about how to move toward full voting equality for all Americans.

This panel is free and open to the public.
