Join us for our annual fundraiser with music, refreshments, and entrepreneur clients from across Chicago.
This year, our event will feature some of our outstanding clients:
- Fresh seasonal produce from Growing Home, which provides farm-based training for people with employment barriers in Englewood
- Fruits and vegetables from Global Garden Refugee Training Farm, which gives refugee families the opportunity to earn income through urban farming in Albany Park
- Scented soy candles from Bright Endeavors, a social enterprise that employs young moms through a paid job training program
- Miniature bundt cakes by Silver Spoon Desserts, a small local business that produces delicious desserts inspired by freedom and baked with love!
We will recognize Jeff Gray, an attorney at Barnes & Thornburg LLP, who has represented Chicago Community Loan Fund (CCLF) in over 30 loan closings. We'll also honor Seyfarth Shaw, which provides pro bono assistance on employment matters for many of our clients.
The Community Law Project helps to build, strengthen, and support community-based organizations that are focused on economic development and social services in Chicago’s low-income neighborhoods. We provide transactional legal assistance to create, stabilize, and foster growth of nonprofits and small businesses; represent first-time low-income home buyers; and give legal support to coalitions of nonprofits in negotiations with developers to secure benefits for surrounding communities.
