On Monday, June 12, Hate Crime Project Coordinator and Program Development Counsel Julie Justicz testified before the Chicago City Council Committee on Human Relations in support of a proposed ordinance prohibiting participation in registry programs. The Committee also heard testimony from Sufyan Sohel and Hoda Katebi of CAIR-Chicago, Michael Takada of Japanese American Service Committee, and Mona Noriega of the Chicago Commission on Human Relations.
