Nonprofit Legal Assessment Program

The Non-Profit Legal Assessment Program (NLAP) provides legal analysis, representation and technical assistance to established nonprofit organizations in the Chicago area.   Its primary purpose is to strengthen community-based groups by building internal capacity in management areas such as regulatory compliance, fiscal oversight, personnel and corporate governance.  By conducting ‘preventive maintenance’, NLAP can help an organization develop best practices for regulatory compliance and governance.   Attorney volunteers work with your organization to provide a comprehensive review of legal documents, financial matters, insurance coverage, intellectual property protection, etc.

To apply for the NLAP, complete this application complete this application (114 KB) or apply online (*new*)
NOTE: If you are applying online, please use Internet Explorer or Safari - there is a bug with Firefox.

Visit our Upcoming Events page, Links/Media page, or Publications page for more nonprofit information.

If you have questions about the program or are interested in volunteering, contact Jody Adler, the NLAP director at jadler@cedlp.org or 312.939. 3638.
