New Project: INWIN

The Initiative for Northwest Indiana (INWIN) is a community economic development law project engaging community organizations, entrepreneurs, businesses, attorneys, and civic leaders for the greater good of the Northwest Indiana regional community. The poverty and neglect caused by the loss of industry and disinvestment in the region threatens our shared commitment to equal justice and equal access to opportunities.

The INWIN project, in partnership with our member attorneys, community leaders, and regional stakeholders, supports a dramatic vision for redevelopment in Northwest Indiana. INWIN executes this vision by providing pro bono legal services to small businesses, entrepreneurs, community groups, local agencies, and regional development projects in Northwest Indiana to strengthen our regional community and create better opportunities for its citizens.

  •  The INWIN Project provides legal assistance to low-moderate income small businesses and entrepreneurs on transactional legal matters, including start-up legal documents, corporate structuring, lease provisions, trademark regulations, employment, and contractual matters.
  • The INWIN Project provides pro bono legal assistance to nonprofit organizations working in low-income communities in Northwest Indiana, including start-up legal documents, tax exemption, and contract review.
  • The INWIN Project provides legal consulting services for regional development projects and municipalities, such as applications for the New Markets Tax Credit Program and Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) certification.

We invite law firms and attorneys to lend the power and prestige of the private bar to our efforts in this area by becoming members of INWIN. We are seeking volunteer attorneys to join our efforts.
